How do you see Jesus? In Matthew 16, Jesus asked that to the disciples, how they saw Him. Who among us would believe in a common man who was bleeding, nailed to a timber? Today, even with miracles there are people who doubt it. Media succeeds in making people doubt even without evidence even watching God`s operation. Would you and I look at the cross and see Jesus as a thief, a common man, a king, a savior? It`s better for you not to say that you would see Him like that otherwise I will doubt about you. We know Jesus making extraordinary things. In Luke 23: 39 the Bible says that criminals were hanged on cross. Criminals are those who do evil things, who lie, who kill, who rob, who adulterate, commit several other evil attitudes. We just wait for evil condition from a criminal. Jesus was shown as the king, but He was among evil people introduced as the king, bleeding, dressed with rags, and humiliated. God set His participation in anyone`s life is not linked with race, religion, appearance, money power, thoughtfulness, and any other human parameters. He set that for Him to interfere in anyone`s life it would be through an only channel called faith. Faith makes us recognize Him as the only God and establishes every man evenly. God never ask anything in order to approve of you, He just wants you to recognize Him as the true God. To you God asks with which eyes you see Him. If you look at God the same way as those criminals on the cross, you will be approved. Imagine, that man was a malefactor, if he were a benefactor; it would have made a great difference. While one charged Jesus on the cross, the other one recognized God in Jesus’ life.
On the cross, Jesus could handle the load of all the generations of mankind, took upon himself all the pains, diseases, shame, sorrow and illnesses affecting humanity in all its generations. He carried the punishment that brought us peace.
That man berated the other criminal and asked Jesus to recognize Him as subordinated, and to receive him in His Kingdom. The Prophet Isaiah had a vision of Jesus on the cross and said He'd be disfigured and no one would recognize Him anymore because He carried these evils and supported all these obstacles for mankind. This man committed evil deeds and crimes until the final moment of his life, when, in the end, he recognized Jesus as the Savior. There is a religious saying that says we pay for our sins. It's silly. That thief committed many crimes and didn't have to pay because the blood of Jesus is what gives us value, and what cleans us from all sins. If you look at Jesus and recognize Him as the King of glory, you don't need anything else, He changes your life, you overcome all addiction, anguish, suffering and pain because He knows we have nothing to give Him back, but He wants to be recognized. That is faith. The thief saw a King to beg water and not receive. Kings get what they want, but Jesus didn`t even receive water, anyway, to the malefactor, Jesus was King. The change in your life is not in religion or prophets and pastors, it begins when you recognize that Jesus is the King of glory, it happens when you surrender to Jesus as your God and your King. We don't see a bloodied Jesus, we see a victorious Jesus. If that thief saw what we see, he would probably be snatched up as Enoch because he had a lot of faith to see a man completely defeated and recognize Him as a King. Receive Jesus. If you have seen the glory of God, surrender to Him as your Lord and Savior, acknowledge Him as your King, the King of glory.
