Never give up of your son

“I was about to lose my son to the drugs and I couldn`t accept that at all”, tells Genésio Francisco de Souza, 66, resident in Marabá, Pará, about his son, Valdir de Souza, 39. “I advised, I talked about, but it didn`t work out. I suffered for him for fifteen years seeking God for a solution”.

“I spent fifteen years in crime and I got arrested twice”, explains Valdir. “I was a chemical dependent and during the time I was a drug user, I lost my wife, job, wealth, and I almost lost my father, my family. For many times, I tried to get out of this way of living, but I couldn`t get it”.

Eight years ago, Genésio, Valdir as well as all of their family`s history changed with a true meeting with Jesus. “I met the Worldwide Church of God`s Power and I started to pray for the life of Valdir”, explains Genésio, “until a day when I watched the preaching of the Apostle Valdemiro Santiago, and on the altar he said: “never give up of your son”. That message came straight into my heart and it made me confident again and I believed in the Lord.” Genésio`s faith was justified. “God touched my heart and I started watching the preaching together with my parents and family, thus the Holy Spirit came into my life and delivered me from addiction, purified me. I accepted Jesus, so I will be baptized soon”, tells Valdir himself besides his father with whom he works in farm work now “You, the one who also has your son in drugs, crime, prison, never give up of him because God does the work for you and for your family as well”, concludes Genésio.
