“I wasted three years of my life for the alcoholic drinks,” tells Marilene Maria Meurer, 56, a resident of Ponta de Lacerda, Mato Grosso. “I lost a place to live, lived as homeless for some years, raising my two daughters, with nothing, much less what to eat. I used to sleep under bridges, in churches and shacks, in parks, and I couldn`t stop drinking. Every cent I got, I spent on drinks. The worse the condition got, the more I drank. When I didn`t have money, I stole bottles of alcoholic drink in supermarkets and bars.”

Marilene explains that yet in streets, she had a meeting with Jesus. “I was drunk, but I saw the TV program of the Worldwide Church of God`s Power on a TV set at a store. I started paying attention, and I got close to the TV set, following the program while the Holy Spirit of God was working on my heart. I searched for a nearby temple and Jesus delivered me from the alcohol as soon as I started attending its services. At that time, Apostle asked for help with six hundred reais in a purpose of the church, and I decided to help, even not having anything. It was at that moment that Jesus blessed me”.

After the change, Marilene concludes. “Today, I have a wealth of one million and five hundred thousand reais, with fourteen apartments, a bakery shop, and much prosperity. Every purpose released I am the first to help, and it has been this way since the first purpose. God changed my luck, delivered me from alcoholism, took me out of streets, opened the doors of my life though helping this ministry grow. I love the Lord very much.”
