“Since I was fifteen years old, I was a drug addicted and lived under a prostitution life,” tells the resident of Mauá, São Paulo, Maria das Graças Alves Sousa, 26. “I used marihuana, cocaine, cigarettes, and alcoholic drinks. I used drugs, got euphoric, restless, but when the effect finished, I got depressed, sad, I wanted to quit, and I even thought about dying.”

It was high that Maria met Jesus. “I was at home, arriving at the end of the side effects of the drug, I turned on the TV set, and I found the program of the Worldwide Church of God`s Power. I started to watch the miracles and hear the preaching. Those messages touched my heart, cheered me up. When the effect of the drug came to an end I asked God for delivering me from addiction and providing me with true happiness.”

Delivered through God`s power through the TV program, Maria testified the power of God in her life. “After delivered, I started attending this ministry, talking about Jesus’ love to everyone who watched the transformation that God performed in my life and today, I am a servant at this ministry for the glory of God.”
