The king Ahaz was suffering during his reign because he knew Christ, but he wasn`t following what the Lord told him to do. So, Difficulties kept increasing, “Now in the time of his distress King Ahaz became increasingly unfaithful to the Lord. This is that King Ahaz”, II Chronicles 28:22 The king Ahaz`s distress led him because of those problems which were arising. When difficulties are present on your path, what`s your reaction? Remember that God is with you and rest in Him otherwise be anguished without a way out. My dear, God is by your side all the time, even when you are going through fights, He fights together with you. Be strong and never give up! “For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him, saying, “Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me.” But they were the ruin of him and all Israel”, II Chronicles 28:23. The king Ahaz turned his back to God and sought other gods, however, he was defeated and destroyed the country because he decided to follow his path away from God`s presence.
If for instance, you got away from Christ, ask Him for forgiveness. He wants to bless you, dear, He intends to dwell in your heart, so, give in at Christ`s feet.
Without knowing what to do, the king Ahaz closed the Temple and broke everything inside it: “So Ahaz gathered the articles of the house of God, cut in pieces the articles of the house of God, shut up the doors of the house of the Lord, and made for himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem”, II Chronicles 28:24. Besides turning his back to God, breaking appliances, and closing the Temple, the king Ahaz started to worship other gods. “And in every single city of Judah, he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked to anger the Lord God of his fathers.” II Chronicles 28:25. Being against God due to consequences you have been going through is not the right path, but asking forgiveness and mercy to the Father, that`s the right track. The king Ahaz chose to live away from the presence of the Lord, and as a result, he had a life of shame and even at the moment of his burial, he was humiliated. “So Ahaz rested with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, in Jerusalem; but they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel.” II Chronicles 28:27. Everything God prepares for your life is everlasting, my dear. Jesus Christ promised to come back to get His church, and even so, do you still keep your back turned to God? He calls you, so return to the Father`s arms because it`s the best place we can be.
