God did not call us to perish in the wilderness. It is a phase with beginning, middle and end. A time to stretch our faith and gain new experiences. A time where we will be taught by the Holy Spirit to listen and act according to the direction of God. Deserts are arid, scarce, lifeless or colorless. In this scenario, only divine goodness can penetrate and generate miracles. Abraham tasted many deserts. Phases that had to give up his preferences, comfort, what he loved most for the love of God. Every effort to obey led him to the land where "milk and honey flowed." It was not your choice to stay with this land. He did not claim the place. Abraham simply received it. As a pastor, he divided the field with Lot. The space begins to grow small and they decide to separate. Lot, choose first. (Genesis 13: 10b) For Abraham, there is over Canaan, and on this land God makes the most important promise of his life: "Look up from thence, northward, southward, eastward, and westward: for all the land which thou seest, I will give it unto thee, and to thy seed for ever" (Genesis 13:14, 15) That's how God does it, and that's exactly what He's going to do in your life.

The blessing and miracle of God are not conditioned to favorable situations. He simply transforms what is a curse into a blessing because all the power is in his hands. God can!

Jesus also walked through the desert. For many days this inhospitable place was his home. The Son of God prayed and fasted a lot during this period, strengthening his spirit for all that he would face. It was in the wilderness that the devil challenged him, tempting him. Wise, Jesus resisted and the devil "left him" (Matthew 4: 11a). The eyes of God were upon Jesus. The Father knew what his beloved son needed and prepared the most improbable meal to be had in the desert: a banquet served by angels. What a care of God! Now, just imagine the taste of food? And you know the best part of all this? It is available to all of us, just follow the example of Christ and Abraham. God bless your day!
