Have you ever eaten something that could keep you for 40 days in your normal routine without having to have a new meal? Is there a "superfood" with this potential? The answer is in 1 Kings 19. The prophet tasted this food at the most critical moment in his history when the authoritarian queen Jezebel invests against his life. King Ahab's wife hated seeing his image weakened when Elijah challenged his prophets to prove if the god Baal was indeed powerful as they claimed.

The prophets of Baal were ashamed because only the God of Israel caused fire to come down from heaven.

Jezebel had all the prophets killed, but her thirst for revenge would not be satiated until she was sure that Elijah's life had come to an end. The prophet flees in an attempt to preserve himself. After traveling a long journey without much resources, it reaches the limit of its forces. His tiredness was not only physical, but mental and spiritual as well. That is why the Bible teaches us in Ephesians 6:10 to clothe ourselves with the power of the Lord's power. Elias had reservations. He knew who God was, was a man experienced and a witness of many miracles. He had already prayed and the fire descended from the heavens and he saw the rain breaking with the drought. Even with so many experiences I was one step closer to succumbing. He stopped, searched for a juniper's foot, and waited for death. Who was this Elijah? Was it the same man who overcame the prophets of Baal? The weapons that make us win are not made by men. They are acquired through faith and manifest with a constant prayer. Man does not have his own resources to fight in the spiritual world, he is not independent. If you do not depend on God you will weaken. Although he was down, Elijah did not forget God, his faith was infallible. Angels served him bread baked in coals and a bottle of water. This provision allowed him to continue walking. Is tired? Seek Jesus. He is the "... living bread which came down from heaven", John 6: 51a.
