We are called as forerunners, those who open the way for the Son of God to pass by and work wonders

John the Baptist was an ordinary man, like us all, made of flesh and blood. But his dedication to the Lord and his presence made him different from everyone. This man gave himself to the Kingdom of God in such a way that Jesus considered him more than a prophet. In the book that bears his name, he describes himself as the forerunner, the pioneer. When I lived in the fields and we went into places where the bush was very tall, I went ahead with a machete cutting the leaves so that the people behind would pass. John did this to the Son of God, presenting the good news so that the people would begin to know the word. He began to evangelize alone. His voice was always heard in the streets. Then he conquered a mass and these people began to go to Jesus.

"Ye yourselves are witnesses of that I said unto you, I am not the Christ, but I was sent as your forerunner," John 3:28

But all that this man possessed and the deeds he performed were not his and he teaches this to his followers: "Man can not receive anything if it is not given to him from heaven," John 3:27. Nothing that comes into our hands is the fruit of our intelligence or effort. Everything comes from God and belongs to Him. John's speech was one of humble and positive. His character, formed in the midst of an arduous desert, is demonstrated by the attitude of the one who takes the ministry seriously and at all times wants to place the Almighty in the highest place: "He must increase and I should decrease," John 3:30. Whatever you set out to do, do to the glory of God. There is no one on the face of the earth who has made an undertaking for the glory of God and has failed. Only those who fail to do their own glory fail. What makes for the glory of God, is successful and successful. God bless your day!
