John the Baptist is known throughout the Bible as "the voice crying out in the wilderness." His work was to announce the arrival of the Son of God, preparing the way for Christ to carry out his ministry and perform all the works he has done here on earth.
When Jesus meets Jesus, he immediately recognizes him and declares, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!", John 1:29.
This man speaks as one who had no doubts in his heart. He had full assurance that this was the Savior. At that time, John was not persecuted or risked death because of his faith. Everything was fine, the pressures did not tighten. Jesus had not yet been sacrificed, but he already recognized him as the one who would shed blood on the cross to cleanse us from all the filth of the evil deeds we have committed, bringing us back to the Father. Further on, a very large chase rises. The man who prepared the way for Christ to walk is captured by Herod and realizes that his head would be beheaded. Here, when asking for his disciples about the true identity of the Son of God, John begins to doubt: "... He sent them to the Lord to ask, 'You are the one who was to come, or we are to expect another'" (Luke 7:19). It is much easier to recognize God when we are in a good moment. However, our faith should not be measured by situations, but be always constant and firm in the Lord. It is necessary to strengthen because during the trip we will come across pieces of storms on the road. If you stop because of fear, it will continue on top of you. The best strategy is to continue and leave behind the adversities. Whether it is the good day or when it all seems impossible that your heart never doubts the power of the Lord, of who He is and what He is capable of. May God bless you greatly!
