Bishop Amaury baptizes former drug addicts

Participants are part of the social re-socialization program of the Therapeutic Community maintained by IMPD

"Baptism was an opportunity that God gave me to start over and not just a spiritual renewal. I want to live in the presence of Christ as they teach the commandments of God, "said Rodrigo, 34, who descended the baptismal waters in the World Therapeutic Community in Ibiúna, in the interior of São Paulo. The event was attended by Bishop Amaury de Farias who held the ceremony, blessing the inmates.

"The recovery house is one of IMPD's evangelistic arms. Being there with them was a real feast, "said Amaury in the show The Supernatural Power of Faith where the images of the event were shown.

In space, 33 inmates are kept undergoing the process of releasing narcotics, based on the word and searching for the presence of God. Every day they participate in two cults and discipleship classes, feed themselves, and have contact with volunteers and visitors seeking to reinsert them in the social context. "The great majority comes here in the last stage of chemical dependency, without having contact with relatives, living completely on the margins of society. We seek them where no one else sees them, we preach about the liberation that Jesus can give and it is amazing to follow the transformation of those who accept the word ", explains the director of the place, the worker Márcio Alexandre de Barros.
